His 13-yard scramble with 8:26 left in the fourth quarter, after he spun free of Logan Hall and Vita Vea in the backfield, was the game-winning score. Rookie Devin Neal carried 19 times for 70 yards and scored on a 3-yard plunge in the first quarter, capping a short field set up by Mason Tipton’s 54-yard kickoff return. Tampa Bay ran 39 times for 179 rushing yards as a team but scored only once on the ground.

Receiving Stats

Chris Godwin Jr. led Tampa Bay with five catches for 55 yards in his return from injury, but the most consequential moment of his afternoon came on a fourth-and-2 near midfield in the fourth quarter when he could not hold a Mayfield pass, turning the ball over on downs and setting up Shough’s go-ahead run. Emeka Egbuka, the game’s most targeted receiver with nine looks, dropped a pass in the end zone late in the game. For New Orleans, receiving yards spread across six players, none gaining more than 40.

Tampa Bay outgained New Orleans 301 to 260 in total yards, held the ball for 32:12, and got to the quarterback three times without allowing a sack in return. The Buccaneers still lost because they converted three of 13 third downs and went two-for-seven on fourth down in a game played through a driving Florida rainstorm. New Orleans ran 32 times for 139 yards and three rushing touchdowns, and the Saints needed nothing more than Shough’s 13-yard scramble with 8:26 on the clock to hold the lead the rest of the way.
